Is Mobile Gaming Catching Up to PC and Console Gaming Experience

In an unprecedented series of events, Mobile E-sports have somehow channeled their way into mainstream gaming and could be considered the future of E-sports. With games like PUBG Mobile, Arena of Valor, and Call of Duty: Mobile being widely popular and drawing in several millions of dollars in revenue, mobile gaming is certainly gaining a lot of attention.

Many developers are shifting their focus and creating mobile versions of their games. Most of the popular E-sports teams also have established teams under popular mobile titles. But despite this, traditional E-sports fans are still skeptical of this relatively new trend.

But Are the Graphics Catching Up?

For years, the console gaming experience was far more superior to mobile gaming with better graphics, as well as gameplay. But today, things have changed—mobile developers now have the resources and the technology required to create the same level of top-notch visuals and engaging gameplay as the console games.

But while some mobiles do have 4K and 8K graphics resolutions matching well up to console developers, not all mobile games are developed with high-resolution graphics for lack of resources at their end.

That being said, given the rising popularity of mobile gaming, all developers will be forced to upgrade and create mobile games with better graphics at some point in the near future.

Understanding the Popularity

The popularity of mobile gaming is closely associated with its accessibility. Simply put, everyone cannot get their hands on a massive high-end gaming computer, nor can everyone afford the latest gaming console. But what most people do have is a smartphone.

Which explains why mobile gaming is pulling in a crazy following in what is probably just the beginning of mobile E-sports.

Is There A Real Comparison, Though?

On the surface, it's all gaming. But for hardcore gamers, the difference is cosmic. Console gaming has been around for almost 50 years, it has had plenty of time to develop and evolve, and it continues to do so.

Mobile gaming is relatively new in this competition. It requires a lot of improvements in terms of genres, graphics, and there are technical restrictions when it comes to controls, which are essential for a great gaming experience.

But when we see the stats, it’s pretty clear that the mobile gaming industry is far more successful in terms of the revenue it draws. This is mainly due to its accessibility. For now, both mobile and console gaming experiences seem to appeal to distinct sets of audiences. Both are still popular platforms and there isn’t much reason to believe that either will lose its appeal any time soon.

Whether you play on your console or your phone, just make sure you have a good time!
